A Hambourg & Leipzig, Chez Jonas Korte, 1727, in-8 (18 x 10.5 cm - 7.1 x 4.1 inches), (4),+ 956 pp.(Old Testament),+ 184 pp.(the Apocrypha),+ (2),+ 302 pp. (New Testament), contemporary full brown calf (wears on spine-end and corners, some rubbings), spine raised on 5 bands, 5 compartments with blind stamped fillets and fleurons, 1 compartment wit gilt lettered red morocco label.
The first edition of this Protestant bible was published in Amsterdam in 1707. The parallels and the notes by David Martin announced on the title page were here omitted, as announced in the preface, because this Bible was marked out to young people and travelers. The present edition is enriched by allegorical frontispiece (trace of tape on the upper bottom of the leave) by Fritz in Hamburg and by 2 title pages of which 1 printed in red and black. The last leave is detached and the bottom of the leaver is ruffled with lack of some letters without gravity.
