Second edition but also first French edition printed the same year as the first ones in London for the first book and Leipzig for the second book. It's very difficult to acquire these 84 studies together by the same editor because because of the distant between the dates of publication. Johann Baptist Cramer, 1771-1858 is the only one of its contemporaries whose Beethoven had some consideration (see Grove' s dict. of Music, 5th edition, 513).
