(blank), Sig. *4, A P6, C4 V4, contemporary soft full parchment (wears and tears on spine with lacks of parchment in the lower part, inner joint splits, wears on each sides), contemporary handwritten title inscribed along spine.
Greco-Latin edition not often to find on sale of the "Græcarum affectionum curatio" (Remedy for the diseases of the Greeks) with comments of the German classic scholar Friedrich Sylburg (1538-1596) at the time where this last one was librarian of the Elector Palatine in Heidelberg and also corrector of the printer Hieronymus Commelinus. "The last and probably also the most complete of the numerous apologies which Greek antiquity has Produced" (Bardenhewer, "Patrology", 3rd ED, 1910, p. 327). This work in XII books of the Greek ecclesiastical writer and bishop of Cyr (Syria) Theodoret (circa 393 - 466) is translated here into Latin with ancien Greek text on the opposite facing, on two columns, by the Italian Dominican Zanobi Acciajuoli (1461 - 1519). Enriched by a title device. Leaves entirely browned but without that undermining the reading of the text. Owner's stamp on title page. Handwritten inscription of the place of printing(Haidelberger) on the lower part of title. Not in Adams.
