Antverpiae, Ex Architypographia Plantiniana, 1781, large in folio (29.5 x 42 cm -11.6 x 16.5 inches), 3 ff. - 276 pp. - xlviii, early 19th century red straight grained morocco binding (some rubbings), spine raised on 4 large bands decorated with gilt fillets, 5 compartments with coat of arms of the pope, 1 compartment gilt lettered, around sides 2 frames of gilt fillets (1 of quadruples thick and thin fillets) with gilt fleurons on corners, in center of each side large gilt panel, rolls on the leading edges, corners reinforced with pieces of silver metal, catches of the claps (missing) in silver metal, silk bookmarkers, gilt edges.
Superb missal enriched by a title printed in red and black with a engraved device representing the Last Suppert, by a nice engraving representing Christ in Cross, by many historical reference letters, tail pieces and by 10 pages of noted musics printed in red and black. Owner's inscription on the first side the first free endpaper dated of 1836 followed by a ex-dono Van der Steen of Jehay of May 18, 1860. Very fresh copy in a beautiful binding.
