(portraits list), begin 19th century half red morocco (some rubbings), flat spine richly gilt tooled, marbled edges.
First and only edition of these portraits which were issued in weekly delivery of eight portraits each one. The 50 deliveries in two volumes and contain 2 title pages and 400 portraits of Deputies. Our copy is the first volume with the first 25 deliveries full complete of the frontispiece by J.C. Malbeste, engraved by Voyez Junior and of the 200 nice etchings after Godefroy, Perrein, Moreau, Gros, Isabey, Turlure, Labadye, Barbier, Mulard, Malbeste, Duval engraved by Massard, Corbe, Desliens, Lefevre, Beljambe, N F. J Masquelier, Voyez, Henriquez, Girardet and Guersant. These series of portraits are very rare, we d'ont have seen passed any more on sale for 25 years. Nice copy in a decorative binding with well contrasted engravings and almost without foxing.
