Third edition (the first in 1837) re-examined and increased, with 200 figures and 22 fabric samples of printed calico inserted and stuck in the text. Pierre Girardin was a professor of industrial chemistry in Rouen and gave course Sunday to the Rouen workmen to whom he dedicate the present work. Near a very interesting part devoted to the chemical dyeing, there are also chapter about the manufacture of the cider, beer, wine, vinegar etc. Tear without loss to 1 leave (p. 19) and tear with loss of some letters at the lower corner of page 741.
