Very faithful ancient reproduction on Japan paper of a monochromic scene comes of one of the famous four rolls of the Chôjû-giga owned by the temple of Kôzan-ji, in the in the northwestern mountain near Kyoto. The Choju jimbutsu giga (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals and Humans) are attributed to Toba Sôjô Kakuyû (1053-1140). Here a frog lead a wild boar accompagnied by two rabbits while a stag moves away.
