(index), 212 pp. (the next to last gathering reversed), contemporary full calf (leather restoration on the upper spine-end and on joints), spine raised on 4 large bands underlined by stamped fillets, 5 compartments decorated with gild fleurons and lower spine-ends decorated with a set of crossed stamped fillets, around sides double framing of triple fillets stamped with four gilt fleurons on corners, in the center of the board a large gilt fleuron, fragments of manuscript on vellum raised with blue and red colors inserted for reinforcement under the pastedown. Scarce Antwerp edition of Institutes and Regulis Juris of Justinianusr who seems unknown by majority of the bibliographers. This edition given by the Antwerp printer Johannes Stelsius is established after the critical edition of the German jurisconsult Gregorius Haloander who was originating of Zwickau in Saxony and who died in 1532 in Venice. Work enriched by some allegorical ornemental letters and by an engraved title page (dirtied) and by head pieces. Contemporary ink out owner's inscription and later library stamp on the first leave. Some stains or foxings without gravity. Lacks blank pastedowns. Nice contemporary binding with large whipped bands. Not in Adams or Camus.
